Join us on 27, 28 and 29th of November for our first ever virtual MUN. Time to suit up and prepare, let your wits and words shape the world.
What’s a MUN?
Model United Nations, abbreviated as MUN is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. MUN involves the art of diplomacy and teaches participants speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. It is meant to engage students and allow them to develop deeper understanding into current world issues.
Why participate?
Preparing and participating in a MUN helps students develop leadership skills, research, writing, public speaking, and problem-solving skills. Moreover, coming up with solutions that are acceptable to a majority of the representatives also inculcates skills of negotiation, conflict resolution, and cooperation. Along with keeping you up to date with the current affairs, these conferences also builds your diplomatic character.
Who can participate?
Model UN participants include students at middle school, high school, and college/university levels, aging 14 to 22. Its flexible structure can accommodate a wide age range, thus making it compatible for all categories of age. Delegates usually attend conferences as delegations sent by their respective schools’ or universities’ Model UN clubs, else as independent candidates.
