Red Bull Basement University is looking for student innovators who want to use their skills and knowledge in technology to solve problems at and around their respective campus. They are looking for ideas and projects that proximately improve student life.
Red Bull invites students from 20 countries and over 300 universities to submit their ideas and to implement positive change in their direct university environment. One winner from each country will will receive €1000 and opportunity to present their idea in Berlin, Germany.
Process
- Application (SEP 10 – OCT 21): Fill out the application form and submit a 60-second video about your idea on this page. Applications can be submitted individually or in groups up to 2 students. More people can collaborate on the project but the two selected representatives will introduce and pitch their projects during the Red Bull Basement University Global Meeting in Berlin.
- Voting/Judging (OCT 22 – OCT 25): Rack up votes through an online voting system. The top-voted ideas move on to the judging panel, which determines who makes it to the next phase based on the following criteria: (1) Feasibility (2) Impact (3) Creativity
- Development (OCT 29 – NOV 23): The selected ideas and teams will now have 30 days to further explore and execute their idea and potentially to already create a prototype if applicable. Red Bull will provide basic funds of 1000 EUROS, mentorship by top-notch experts from the field, networking opportunities and working space.
- Global Meeting (NOV 29-DEC 2): All country winners will be invited to the Red Bull Basement University Global Meeting in Berlin, a 4-day event with lectures, workshops, mentorship sessions, and various activities, all leading up to a final pitching competition for the selected participants and their projects.
