Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Fellow in High-Pressure Mineral Physics at IIT Gandhinagar for the year 2022. The last date of application is 30 June.
A one-year Postdoctoral Fellow position with Dr. Rajkrishna Dutta, Discipline of Earth Sciences, is available with a possibility of extension based on candidate’s performance in the first year. The candidate is expected to carry out research in experimental high-pressure mineral physics.
Job Description
The candidate will be required to synthesize and characterize silicate (or its analogs) perovskites and olivines. The samples would then be compressed in a diamond anvil cell and studied using in situ x-ray diffraction and/or spectroscopic techniques at different synchrotron facilities to understand high-pressure phase transitions. The candidate is expected to be able to work independently and mentor PhD students.
Eligibility
PhD in Earth Sciences, Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science with experience in X- ray diffraction/ spectroscopy from reputed institutes with good publication record. Candidates who have submitted their thesis are equally eligible.
Remuneration
50,000 INR + 10,000 INR HRA, No HRA will be paid if campus housing is availed.
Application
Candidates must send their application through email to Dr. Rajkrishna Dutta (raj.dutta@iitgn.ac.in) with the following documents in a single pdf file as an attachment:
