About the Speaker
Dr. Girish Kulkarni, Founder, Snehalaya would be our guest speaker for the session. He is a trained journalist and Professor at S.P. Pune University. He is a pioneer for social change, a visionary and an inspirational leader. He holds a doctorate in Political Science and Public Management, as well as two masters in Politics and Sociology, and he was bestowed the President of India Award 2012 for his service to his country in the field of Social Work.
About Snehalaya
Snehalaya is a ‘Home of Love’ which supports women, children and LGBT to find a safe exit point from poverty and the commercial sex industry. Founded in 1989 in Ahmednagar, it serves India’s hidden population: people who go uncounted and uncared for. Snehalaya is run by Indians, for Indians, to fight AIDS and to end human trafficking.
Snehalaya provides rehabilitation, educations, healthcare and awareness without judgement to support 15,000+ beneficiaries a year, across 18 projects in four key areas of development.
