Applications are invited for a junior research fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Ropar under the project titled “A Noise-Power-Area Optimised Instrumentation Amplifier for Sensing Applications”.
The overall objective of the project is to design CMOS based Instrumentation amplifier that is optimized with respect to the noise, power and area specifications for biomedical applications.
Eligibility
Essential qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Eng./ VLSI/Electronics Eng./ Electronics and Instrument Eng/ Biomedical Eng./ Equivalent branches with a GATE or CSIR UGC NET qualified score.
OR Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Eng./ Electronics Eng./Electronics and Instrument Eng/ Biomedical instrumentation/ Equivalent Engineering or Technology branches with a GATE or CSIR UGC NET qualified score. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST) in their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
Desired qualifications: Strong fundamentals in the area of CMOS analog integrated circuit design. Experience in electronic circuit and PCB design, soldering, testing, characterization and electronic system prototype development will be an added advantage.
Duration
The duration of the project is thirty-six (36) months.
Salary
A consolidated salary of Rs. 31000/- per month will be provided as per the institute norms.
Application
The interested candidates must apply in the regular PhD admission process of IIT Ropar and choose the option “Microelectronics and VLSI Design” as the first preference. The selected candidate will be registered for the PhD degree.
The interview for this position will be held along with the PhD admission interviews of the Microelectronics and VLSI Design group of the Electrical Engineering Department of IIT Ropar. The candidates should also visit the admissions website periodically for the latest updates on the PhD admission process.
