Department of Computer Science & Engineering Indian Institute of Technology Indian School of Mines IIT-ISM, Dhanbad is inviting applications from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under DST (SERB) Funded Project in time-bound research purely on contractual basis.

Job Description

The project fellow assists in developing various techniques to overcome interoperability issues in Fog-cloud architecture especially in the context of IoT applications.
The project fellow needs to apply various programming languages like python/Java to implement various techniques for Fog-cloud architecture and should have the basic knowledge for IoT implementations using Raspberry, Arduino, etc.

Essential Qualification

M.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science & Engg./Information Technology/Computer Application/Software Engineering/Electronics Engg./Electronics andCommunication Engg./ Instrumentations Electrical Engg with first class/division or a 60% marks/CGPA of 6.5 (on a 10 point scale) AND B. Tech. or equivalent in Computer Science & Engg./Information Technology/Electronics Engg./Electronics and Communication Engg./Instrumentations/ Electrical Engg with a minimum of 70% marks/CGPA of 7.5 (on a 10 point scale).

Desirable Qualification

GATE/NET Qualified with a valid score.

Age and Relaxation

The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years at the time of appointment. (Age relaxation
for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Female candidates as per GOI rules).


As per DST (SERB) norms only. Rs. 31, 000/- pm for 1st and 2nd Year and Rs.35,000/- pm for 3rd Year.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date of interview. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee an invitation to the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their merit and as per the requirement of the project.
All candidates should make their own arrangements for their stay at Dhanbad if required. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
