
IIT JAM 2023 (Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test M.Sc ) is conducted every year by the Indian Institute of Technology on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development. IIT JAM is administered for admission to M.Sc and PG courses offered by the participating IITs.
IIT JAM exam will tentatively be held in the month of February 2023. For those unaware, the full form of IIT JAM is the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test M.Sc. IIT Guwahati will act as an organizing committee for IIT JAM 2023.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must go through IIT JAM eligibility guidelines prior to applying for the examination.
- Candidates of Indian and foreign nationalities are eligible to apply
- Applicants in their qualifying degree’s final year exam are also eligible
- Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA, for General /OBC-NCL candidates and 50% marks or 5.0 CGPA for ST/SC/PwD

- Visit the official website of IIT JAM 2023 i.e www.jam.iitm.ac.in.
- Fill in the application form;
- Upload the latest passport photo with signature, and category SC/ST/PwD;
- Conclude by paying the application fee;
- Submit the application form.

IIT JAM 2023 Exam Pattern
IIT JAM exam pattern has been given below:
- Test papers: Mathematical Statistics, Biotechnology, Geology, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics.
- Mode of exam: Online;
- Total Marks: The question paper will be for 100 marks.
- Duration of Exam: 3 hours;
- No. of questions: 60- 30 in section A, 10 in section B, and 20 in section C
- Medium of IIT JAM Paper: English;
- Negative Marking: IIT JAM will have negative marking for section A.
- For Section A- 1/3 of marks will be deducted for each wrong 1 mark answer and ⅔ of marks for 2 mark questions;
- For Section B- no negative and no partial marking;
- For Section C- no negative marking

- IIT Bhubaneswar (IITBBS): Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. Programmes in (i) Atmosphere & Ocean Sciences, (ii) Chemistry, (iii) Geology, (iv) Mathematics, and (v) Physics.
The modalities for selection to the Ph.D. Programme in the joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. Programme at IIT Bhubaneswar are as follows:
After completing the third semester of the M.Sc. Programme,
Those students securing CGPA ≥ 8.5 and having expressed their desire to continue in writing are eligible to opt for the Ph.D. Programme. Final selection will be based on the written test, interview and other short-listing criteria set by the Institute. Those not selected and those who do not opt for the Ph.D. Programme will exit with an M.Sc. degree.
Those with CGPA < 8.5 are not allowed to opt for the Ph.D. Programme and will exit with an M.Sc. degree. - IIT Bombay (IITB):
- Two-Year Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programmes in (i) Applied Geology, (ii) Applied Geophysics, (iii) Applied Statistics & Informatics, (iv) Biotechnology, (v) Chemistry, (vi) Mathematics, and (vii) Physics.

Programme conversion of the eligible students is confirmed at the end of the third semester subject to their qualification of the CSIR/UGC-NET, GATE or any equivalent examination and meeting the short-listing criteria of the concerned discipline. Students continuing in M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree Programme are awarded M.Sc. degree after successful completion of all its prescribed requirements with recognition that it also partially fulfills the requirements of M.Sc. and Ph.D. Dual Degree Programme. - IIT Jammu (IITJammu):
