The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar is looking for young, dynamic, tech-savvy, highly motivated, and committed Diploma/ Degree Graduates to serve as Intern purely on a temporary basis for a period of one year.
Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is a public engineering institution located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It has been declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.
IIT Gandhinagar is one of the eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2008. The institute began operating in a temporary campus at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, mentored by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. .

Multiple internship positions in the areas of Civil/ Electrical/ Horticulture.
Internship Role
For Intern-Civil
- To assist in day to day monitoring and reporting of all civil maintenance, addition/ alteration and other miscellaneous works in the campus as directed, Drawing management work, Preparation of estimate, Minor AutoCAD drafting work.
- Supervision and reporting of civil maintenance works, civil addition/ alteration works, Collection and reporting of technical data of sites.
For Intern-Electrical
- To assist in day-to-day monitoring and reporting of operation & maintenance of E&M installation, HVAC system & Minor electrical work of campus.
- Day to day maintenance work supervision and reporting.
- Preparing reports and technical details for new work.
For Intern-Hotriculture
- Assist in day to day monitoring and reporting of operation & maintenance of Horticulture work like hedge, ground coverage, trees & lawns.
- Day to day maintenance work supervision and reporting.
- Preparing reports and technical details for new work.
Eligibility Criteria
- For Intern-Civil: Having passed a 3 years diploma or 4 years degree course in Civil Engineering; Candidate should have knowledge of Hindi and English language, AutoCAD drafting & M.S. office.
- For Intern-Electrical: Having passed a 3 years diploma or 4 years degree course in Electrical Engineering; Basic knowledge of internal electrical and air conditioning work & Computer.
- For Intern-Horticulture: B.Sc Agriculture/ Forestry or related qualification; Basic knowledge of Plants, Hedge, trees & Computer.
Remuneration
A monthly stipend in the tentative range of Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 18,000/- per month. No other allowances are admissible. On-campus bachelor accommodation may be provided to the selected candidates against payment of applicable charges, as per institute rules, subject to availability.
Duration
The duration of traineeship will be one year.

- Selection will be based on interviews and only the shortlisted candidates shall be intimated well in advance the date and time of the interview.
- No TA/DA would be paid for attending the interview, in case the interviews are scheduled in person.
- The incumbent will not have any legal right to claim his/ her regularization/ appointment by absorption or otherwise against any regular posts or any other further contractual engagement on termination of the agreement.
- The trainee has to work six days a week (Monday to Saturday).
- He/ she may also be required to work during the evenings and even on holidays, as the work demands.
- Beyond the assigned regular scope of work, the trainee is required to attain the job consigned by the reporting officer or any other concerned person from time to time.
- The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason. Institute reserves the right to waive/ relax any conditions.
- The Institute reserves the right not to fill-up any of these positions.
- The applicant must be not above the age of 25 years as on 30.11.2020.
