The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) invites applications from bright and eligible candidates for various faculty positions at the institute. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS categories are invited to apply. IIM Calcutta provides reservation as per Government of India rules.

IIM Calcutta was established in 1961 as the first national-level institution in the field of management education by the Government of India in collaboration with the Sloan School of Management at MIT and with the support of the Government of West Bengal and the Ford Foundation.

Qualifications

1. For Professor: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record and a minimum of ten years of Teaching/Industry/ Research experience of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor at IIMs or other peer institutes in India/ abroad.
2. For Associate Professor: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years of Teaching/Industry/ Research experience, of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor at IIMs or other peer institutes in India/ abroad.
3. For Assistant Professor: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record throughout and at least three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.
4. For Assistant Professor Grade-I: Ph.D. with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate area with a very good academic record throughout and none to three years’ Teaching/Industry/Research experience; excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Those about to complete their doctoral degree may also apply.

For all regular faculty positions, candidates with proven track records of publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals would be preferred. Demonstrated success in teaching is desirable. For an appointment into a regular faculty cadre (Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor), there would be a minimum probation period of 2 years.

Salary

• Professor: Pay level: 4A (Pay scale : INR 1,59,100 – INR 2,20,200)
• Associate Professor: Pay level – 13A2 (INR 1,39,600 – INR 2,11,300)
• Assistant Professor: Pay level – 13A1 (INR 1,31,400 – INR 2,04,700)
• Assistant Professor Grade I: Consolidated pay will be fixed as per level 12.

Plus allowances and superannuation benefits as per Government of India norms
