About
Dr Ambedkar Foundation an autonomous organisation of The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India has instituted Dr Ambedkar International Award for social change to commemorate the services rendered by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to India and the humanity at large.
This award is conferred upto the individual(s) or organization(s) irrespective of their nationality, race, creed or sex for the following :
- Waging an exemplary fight against inequality and injustice.
- Resolutely espousing the cause of the exploited and underprivileged.
- Contributing significantly to social change.
- Bringing about reconciliation among conflicting social groups and serving the ideal of social harmony and human dignity.
Who can Nominate?
Members of Parliament of India, former recipients of Dr. Ambedkar International Award, former Members of the Jury, Speaker / Presiding Officer of National Legislature of other countries, Bar Association of Supreme Court of India and High Court of each State / UT, Presidents and Vice-Chancellors of Universities, Professors of Political Sciences, History, Law, Economics, Sociology, Philosophy and Natural Sciences and Heads of Indian Missions abroad.
Nominations
- Nominations must be sent in the prescribed format either in Hindi or English only. (Nominations received in other than prescribed proforma will not be entertained)
- Nomination form is available on the website of the Foundation DAIC and Social Justice.
- Hard copy of the application form duly recommended is to be sent to Director, Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, 9th Floor, Jeevan Prakash building, 25, KG Marg, Connaught Place, New Delhi, Delhi110001
- Soft Copy of the application form duly recommended is to be emailed to consultant.daf[at]nic.in.
Deadline
Last date for receipt of nominations – 27th March 2022.
Award
This award is given annually and carried with it an amount of Rs 1.5 million (INR 15 Lakhs) and a Citation.
